Mona Lisa Smile
- When: 30-Dec-2003
- Where: Cinemark Carefree Circle, C/S, CO
- Who: Becky, Tina, Jaime and I
- Rating: PG-13 (Sexual content & thematic issues)
- Comments: I liked it. Tina said she almost fell asleep a few times. I would consider it a drama. No action. Not really a comedy. A character development movie (as I like to call them). I thought it was good. But hey, it had Julia Roberts AND Julia Stiles in it... so it couldn't be bad. :-)
- Synopsis: Set in 1953, Katherine Watson (Roberts) is a free-spirited graduate of UC Berkeley who accepts a teaching post at Wellesley College...

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
- When: 23-Feb-2003
- Where: Cinemark Tulsa, Tulsa, OK
- Who: Tina, Rick, Cathy, Terri
- Rating: PG-13 - some sex-related material
- Comments: Quite the chick flick. I was so embarrased for them... but it was a good show. Man... is Kate Hudson every Goldie's daughter. It was so apparent in this film. I think that was one of the really cool things about it!
- Synopsis: Matthew McConaughey stars as a womanizer who bets his friends that he can stay in a relationship for more than 10 days. Unfortunately, the beautiful woman (Kate Hudson) he picks has determined to use all the usual male commitment phobias to get him to dump her before then.

Tears of the Sun
- When: 11-Mar-2003
- Where: Cinemark Carefree Circle, C/S, CO
- Who: Me and Jaime
- Rating: R - strong war violence, some brutality and language
- Comments: Wow... great war movie. Jaime thought it was the best war movie she has ever seen. Shows why sometimes you just have to get involved... She said, "I want to be that Dr some day."
- Synopsis: In director Antoine Fuqua’s (Training Day) new action-adventure film, Bruce Willis stars as Lt. A.K. Waters, the loyal veteran officer of a Navy S.E.A.L unit, who travels to war-torn Nigeria to rescue Dr. Lena Kendricks (Monica Bellucci), a U.S. citizen who runs a mission in the countryside. She refuses to abandon the refugees under her care, and implores Waters to escort them on a dangerous trek through the jungle to the border of Cameroon. During the journey, the S.E.A.Ls find themselves the unwitting guardians of a man sought by the rebel militia. This endangers their already hazardous mission, but strengthens Waters' resolve to protect Lena--for whom he has unexpectedly developed feelings--and the refugees.

Just Married
- When: 25-Jan-2003
- Where: Cinemark Carefree Circle, C/S, CO
- Who:
- Rating: PG-13 - sexual content, some crude humor and a brief drug reference
- Comments: It was cute. We all thought so. I was a bit worried about it being PG-13. (Different things bother different people. Personally I can handle war type violance, which many people can't... but I don't like overly sexual content or just profanity for the heck of it. Most PG-13 comedies tend to fall into one (or both) of those categories.) But it turned out to be not too bad. Not much profanity. The sexual content mostly centered around the fact that they are just married and spend their entire honeymoon trying to have sex but never getting too. Yeah... doesn't sound too good, but it actually has quite a few funny situations.
- Synopsis: Two young newlyweds, a traffic reporter (Ashton Kutcher) and a writer (Brittany Murphy), set out for the perfect honeymoon in Venice, Italy. It turns out to be anything but the ideal vacation...as every inconceivable mishap becomes reality, and family naysayers back home chime in about getting married too young.

Catch Me If You Can
- When: 18-Jan-2003
- Where: Cinemark Carefree Circle, C/S, CO
- Who:
- Comments: I thought it was an interesting story, especially how it turned out and the fact that it was "inspired by a true story." I looked around and there are a number of links to Frank Abagnale, Jr on the web. (just try google).
- Synopsis: Frank Abagnale, Jr. (Leonardo Di Caprio) worked as a doctor, a lawyer, and as a co-pilot for a major airline-all before his 18th birthday. A master of deception, he was also a brilliant forger, whose skill gave him his first real claim to fame. At the age of 17, Frank Abagnale, Jr. became the most successful bank robber in the history of the U.S. FBI Agent Carl Hanratty (Tom Hanks) had made it his prime mission to capture Frank and bring him to justice, but Frank is always one step ahead of him.

Two Weeks Notice
- When: 24-Dec-2002
- Where: Cinemark Carefree Circle, C/S, CO
- Who:
- Tina, Jaime
- Tif, Brian
- The Mills
- Comments: Everyone thought the movie was a real sleeper. You didn't get involved with the people, so you really didn't care what happened to them. Personally I thought it was a light comedy and OK. Hey, it had Sandra Bullock in it... so it couldn't be all bad.
