  • Where: Cinemark Tulsa, Tulsa, OK
  • Who: me
  • Rating: R - violence, language and brief sexuality
  • Comments: Pretty dark. Quite a bit of language and violence, but I like Kurt Russel and thought it was a good film.
  • Synopsis: Set in the Los Angeles Police Department in 1992, Dark Blue is a thriller that takes place just days before the acquittal of four white officers in the beating of black motorist Rodney King and the subsequent L.A. riots. As they work the case, Detective Eldon (Kurt Russell), tutors SIS rookie Bobby (Scott Speedman) in the realities of police intimidation and corruption

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
  • When: 23-Feb-2003
  • Where: Cinemark Tulsa, Tulsa, OK
  • Who: Tina, Rick, Cathy, Terri
  • Rating: PG-13 - some sex-related material
  • Comments: Quite the chick flick. I was so embarrased for them... but it was a good show. Man... is Kate Hudson every Goldie's daughter. It was so apparent in this film. I think that was one of the really cool things about it!
  • Synopsis: Matthew McConaughey stars as a womanizer who bets his friends that he can stay in a relationship for more than 10 days. Unfortunately, the beautiful woman (Kate Hudson) he picks has determined to use all the usual male commitment phobias to get him to dump her before then.

Tears of the Sun
  • When: 11-Mar-2003
  • Where: Cinemark Carefree Circle, C/S, CO
  • Who: Me and Jaime
  • Rating: R - strong war violence, some brutality and language
  • Comments: Wow... great war movie. Jaime thought it was the best war movie she has ever seen. Shows why sometimes you just have to get involved... She said, "I want to be that Dr some day."
  • Synopsis: In director Antoine Fuqua’s (Training Day) new action-adventure film, Bruce Willis stars as Lt. A.K. Waters, the loyal veteran officer of a Navy S.E.A.L unit, who travels to war-torn Nigeria to rescue Dr. Lena Kendricks (Monica Bellucci), a U.S. citizen who runs a mission in the countryside. She refuses to abandon the refugees under her care, and implores Waters to escort them on a dangerous trek through the jungle to the border of Cameroon. During the journey, the S.E.A.Ls find themselves the unwitting guardians of a man sought by the rebel militia. This endangers their already hazardous mission, but strengthens Waters' resolve to protect Lena--for whom he has unexpectedly developed feelings--and the refugees.
